Can anyone help me find a cycling machine to borrow untill the end of May to train on when the weather isn't good enough to be out on the bike? Please ask around as I'm sure someone must have one stuffed up in there loft gathering dust.

The weather's fine for cycling right now!
Yes indeed, but best to be prepared in case. I'm off to Choi tonight (train 2hours 4xweek at the mo) but will start on the bike Saturday. I definatly need some sort of program of to work up to. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
If you must train inside, get a turbo trainer or some rollers so you can train on the bike you'll be riding. Don't train on an excercise bike, the setup and riding position are very different.
Outside, just get on the bike and ride. Unless you're riding regualarly you need to build up miles of base fitness before moving onto more specific training. There are loads of books and websites around, a good bet is to but a heart monitor and follow some of the heart monitor training books.
Thanks for your suggestions. I,ve seen turbo trainers on the web and may invest in one this winter but for now I'm saving up for a road bike so it will have to wait. I'll take your advise about the excercise bike and get out on the road. I am getting out on my bike now and will be commuting from Hitchin to Royston as a start. I plan to ride to St Albans at the weekend in a couple of weeks. The heart monitor is a great idea I will look into it. Thanks very much for your help.
